kJams works with Karaoke Anywhere

You can rip your songs from your discs, then export them in a "Karaoke Anywhere" compatible format. Note it only works with Zipped MP3+G files, not with movies or other audio/video formats.

Also, KA is set up in such a way that it is NOT POSSIBLE to have two of the same song that are from different albums. If you try to do that, one will over-write the other. So don't try it!

  1. if you have not already, install the LAME MP3 Encoder, then restart kJams
  2. go to preferences->Importing, set your "Audio Encoder" to "LAME" (preset: "Best")
  3. Check the "Zip files when ripping" preference
  4. Go to the "Exporting" pref panel
  5. Set "Export name template" to "R - S"
  6. Go to the "Tags" pref panel
  7. Set "Conform Names" to "R-S", make sure it is checked, and make sure "Update media meta tags" is checked
  8. if you have not ripped your discs yet or bought your songs
    1. rip all your discs!
    2. buy the songs you want!
  9. make a playlist of the songs you want to export to KA
  10. Show the "Format" sort-column, then sort by it (Learn how to hide/show Sort Columns)
  11. Select all the songs that are not MP3 (eg: AAC)
  12. Advanced->Convert Selection to: "LAME MP3: Best", and wait for the activities to complete
  13. Show the "File: Zip" sort column and sort by it, then hide the "Format" sort-column
  14. select any songs that do NOT have an entry under the "File: Zip" column (blank entry)
  15. Advanced->Convert Selection to: "LAME MP3: Best", and wait for the activities to complete
  16. any songs that still do not have an entry under the "File: Zip" column are not eligible to use with KA, you can remove them from the playlist. Let me know if you think something is wrong there (remember: no movies)
  17. Sort by "Song Name", then hide the "File: Zip" sort column
  18. Select all the songs
  19. pick "Advanced->Special->Push Meta Data" (you can also right click)
  20. File->Export->Entire Playlist: All Files
  21. Pick "Flat"
  22. it will tell you that you could overwrite files, pick "I Know"
  23. Create a new folder on the desktop
  24. Export to that folder
  25. Go back to prefs->Tags
  26. Set "Conform Song Names" back to "L-T-R-S", click OK
  27. Quit kJams
  28. run iTunes
  29. select your iOS device
  30. click the Apps tab
