Customizing the Library Temp
The kJams main library displays six columns of meta data, sorted alphabetically by song name. This is the default layout for the main library.
SCREEN SHOT
The default layout for the main library isn’t the same as for the playlists. Is this something that needs to be explained?
You can leave the library as it is, or you can:
- Sort the information differently (sort by artist, sort by album, etc.)
- Arrange the columns in a different order
- Swap meta data between columns
- Display or suppress different columns of meta data
The functionality is similar to iTunes, so you may already be familiar with the flexibility that is available to you. If you are unfamiliar with iTunes, I suggest you read on to learn how the library works.
Sorting
Simply click on the Column Name to sort by that information. Sorting is done alphabetically or numerically. Clicking a second time reverses the order. For example, if you click once on Artist, the library is sorted by artist’s name, from A to Z. If you click again, the list is sorted from Z to A.
SCREEN SHOTS
Arranging Columns
You can have the columns in any order you want. Just click on the column name and drag the entire column to wherever you want it.
Swapping Meta Data
Use the following commands to swap meta data between columns in your library or playlist. Select the song or songs, and then go to:
- Advanced → Swap Name <-> Artist
- Advanced → Swap Artist <-> Album
- Advanced → Swap Name <-> Album
- Advanced → Artist Name Swap First <-> Last
These commands are really useful when you have a bunch of data to swap, but they’re also useful when fixing a single song.
This implies that you might have some songs with the data in the wrong columns. So is this something that will generally happen when you “add to library” and the meta data is complete but not in the order you want?
