Cloning
- If you have any music files that reside outside your ~/Music/kJams folder, you will have to move them to the corresponding place, they must have the same path name in their new location, as in the original location.
- If you have any music files on an external disk, you'll have to mount that disc at your destination (you can serve it remotely, see Serving Music Remotely)
- If your user name on the new computer is different from the old one, you'll have to create a symbolic link on the new computer, with the old name, pointing to the new name. See The Easy Hard Way to make symlinks, or ask for help.
- In the Finder, go to <startup hard drive>/Library/Application Support/kJams Plugins
- Drag that entire folder (the one called "kJams Plugins") to your other computer, same place
- In the Finder, go to your home folder ~/Music/kJams/
- Drag that entire folder (the one called "kJams") to your other computer, same place
- In the Finder, go to home your folder (the icon is a picture of a house, in the Go menu)
- In Lion, reveal the Library folder, since it's hidded (thanks apple!). To do so, hit command-shift-G, then type "Library", return
- go into ~/Library/Preferences/kJams
- Drag that entire folder (the one called "kJams") to your other computer, same place (you may have to reeal the Library folder there too)
- Drag the Application over too, double click!
