Although you can enjoy karaoke without the use of a microphone, a mic most certainly completes the karaoke experience. A Diva isn’t a Diva without her microphone.
For you newbies out there, you might be thinking that connecting a microphone is easy—shouldn’t any mic work if you plug it into the microphone port? Unfortunately, it’s not that simple. You will likely need to use a pre-amp (to boost the signal), and if your microphone set-up doesn’t come with a pre-amp, you will need to purchase a mic that does or you’ll want to amp it in the software. Also, depending on your microphone, you may need an adapter.
There also some limitations in using a microphone, and for now, this feature is only supported on the MAC.
