- If you have any music files that reside outside your ~/Music/kJams folder, you will have to move them to the corresponding place, they must have the same path name in their new location, as in the original location (including hard drive name / drive letter)
- If you have any music files on an external disk, you'll have to mount that disc at your destination (you can serve it remotely, see Serving Music Remotely) (Win: must have same drive letter)
- If your user name on the new computer is different from the old one, you'll have to create a symbolic link on the new computer, with the old name, pointing to the new name. See The Easy Hard Way to make symlinks, or ask for help.
- In the Finder, go to <startup hard drive>/Library/Application Support/kJams Plugins
- Drag that entire folder (the one called "kJams Plugins") to your other computer, same place
- In the Finder, go to your home folder ~/Music/kJams/
- Drag that entire folder (the one called "kJams") to your other computer, same place
- In the Finder, go to home your folder (the icon is a picture of a house, in the Go menu)

- go into ~/Library/Preferences/kJams. (if you don't know what ~ means, then click it for an explanation)
- Drag that entire folder (the one called "kJams") to your other computer, same place (you may have to reeal the Library folder there too)
