Rogue-rogues don't come with an installer.  this makes them more of a hassle to use.  to use it, you must unzip "kJams XXX.app" to your desktop, then throw out the zip file.  Then, open the .app folder, and go into Contents/Windowsin there you'll see "kJams XXX.exe", make a shortcut of that.  Put the shortcut on your desktop.  Then, use that shortcut to launch kJamsLater (like in a week) when a new update arrives via installer, just install it then trash the .app and the shortcut from your desktop.  If you go and get another rogue, without getting a new update thru the installer, then you just trash the .app and replace it with the new rogue, no need to create another short cut, the current one will continue to work.

rogue builds are actually "rogue rogue", in the sense that any "r" build is sortof a rogue, but the "r" builds have morphed into official builds, i did that to keep the "d" build numbers from going thru the roof, reserving them for major milestones.

so the "rogue rogue" builds are ones i make between "r" releases, that may be incomplete, or are intended to get a feature request or critical bug fix out to a select customer.

The links below may or may not work at any given time.

Lite Mac, Pro Mac, Lite Win, Pro Win

Special instructions for Mac

When using a rogue, DELETE the previous version of the application (drag to trash, empty trash), then download the rogue, unzip it, and place it in your Applications folder.

Special instructions for Windows

Rogue-rogues don't come with an installer. this makes them more of a hassle to use.

  1. download the one you need
  2. the file is a ZIP file but it will be displayed in "Windows Explorer" as a folder, do not be confused by this, it is still zipped
  3. you have to unzip the "kJams XXX.app" folder to the "Desktop" folder (note "XXX" means either "Lite" or "Pro")
  4. To unzip on XP
    1. go "up" one folder and select the actual zip file "kJamsXXXWin.zip"
    2. right click on that (it may ask about "unspecified potential security risk, you can just click "continue")
    3. from the context menu, pick "Extract files..."
    4. click the "Desktop" icon to set the "Destination Path"
  5. To unzip on a more normal OS (Vista, 7)
    1. just drag "kJams ###.app" to the desktop
  6. you may then throw out the zip file if you wish
  7. open the .app folder, and go into Contents, then into Windows
  8. in there you'll see "kJams XXX.exe", select that, right click, then pick "make a shortcut"
  9. drag the shortcut top your desktop
  10. close the window
  11. use that shortcut to launch kJams

Later (like in a week) when a new update arrives via installer, just install it like normal, then trash the .app and the shortcut from your desktop. If you go and get another rogue, without getting a new update thru the installer, then you just trash the .app folder, and replace it with the new rogue using the steps above. There is no need to create another short cut, the current one will continue to work.
