That means it's completely free to download and use! In fact I highly recommend you try it out before buying, to make sure you can rip using your CD drive, NOT ALL DRIVES ARE COMPATIBLE (The unregistered version has some limitations, see below)

Note: kJams Lite WITH Burning is $80.

• Plugins (Sold Separately) that work with either Lite or Pro:
  • Burning Plugin: $40 (More Info) Burn mix discs or create pristine uncompressed copies or backups of your collection. (To burn full discs requires registered Lite or Pro application)
  • Producer Plugin: $70 (More Info) Edit the CDG graphics, use Synced text to create new karaoke graphics, add pictures.
• iPhone or iPod Touch Apps that work only with the Pro version

How To purchase or Upgrade

• The Application
  

Download the one you want (Lite or Pro) and run it, then go to the Help menu, pick "Purchase..." If you want to upgrade to Pro from an already purchased Lite, go Help->Upgrade, and the cost is exactly the difference between the two. Note: you do not have to Enter the serial number.

• The plugins
  

Download the plugin you want and install it. If kJams was running then quit it, then run kJams and go to Preferences and look for it's preference panel, and select it. Now you can click the "Purchase" button. If you're going to buy the Burning plugin, first do a burn test with just a couple songs to make sure it works for you. When you have verified that it works, THEN buy it.
