Before you put in a CD, it’s a good idea to turn off the thing that automatically launches iTunes when you put in a disc. If iTunes launches automatically, your songs could end up in the iTunes library, which isn’t a good thing. You don’t want to do this!
To turn off iTunes on a Mac:
- Go to Apple → System Preferences → CDs and DVDs
- Change "When you insert a music CD" to "Ignore". Or change it to kJams. But make sure it does NOT run iTunes. If iTunes is running, exit out of it.
