New page

Whenever I send an email to you, you may receive an attachment with a file type ".asc".

This file is not meant to be opened, and may be safely ignored by you.

It is a digital signature file whose sole purpose is to ensure that the contents of my email have not been tampered with between my computer and yours.

However, in order for it to be effective, you must have installed [https://gpgtools.org/ Gnu Privacy Guard] on your computer. When you do this, instead of seeing an ".asc" file, you would see a little badge icon indicating that the message is genuine.
